This event brings together members from across the state for education and training to advocate on behalf of MSSA's legislative agenda. This year, there are two opportunities for you to attend: Advocacy 101 and Advocacy 201. We encourage you to register for one or both events to deepen your advocacy knowledge and practice!
Advocacy 101

In Advocacy 101, you'll learn advocacy basics you need to know to inspire yourself and others to advocate! In this training, you will
- Learn advocacy basics, including who represents you and how a bill becomes a law
- Learn and practice advocacy tactics
- Engage with other advocates on topics you're passionate about
Advocacy 201

1:30 - 3:30 pm
In Advocacy 201, you'll put your advocacy skills to the test and take them one step further! In this training, you will:
- Dive deeper into the legislative process, including learning pivotal timepoints to act and engage in advocacy
- Learn how to have an effective meeting with your lawmakers
- Learn how to give effective legislative testimony based on your area of passion or expertise
- Learn about MSSA's legislative agenda and how you can get involved
- Engage with other advocates on topics you're passionate about
