Dr. Bradley Wolfe
  Racial equity work is about progress, not perfection. What can rural folks do to advance racial equity in their communities? We will discuss strategies for thinking critically about how our communities may be upholding systems of racism, and what you can do in your relationships to break the cycle. Whether you are new to racial justice or need a refresher to reaffirm your commitment, this will be a space to gather resources you can apply in your sphere of influence.

1:00 - 3:30 pm Professional Dangerousness: Expanding Our Awareness for More Connected Work
Jessica Hoeper and Breanna McMullen
  An introduction to the concept of Professional Dangerousness: what it is; how it is displayed in practice; why it happens to us; and what we can do about it. This session will be focused on expanding self-awareness while deepening professional resilience through understanding the concept of professional dangerousness.

About the speakers

Dr Bradley Wolfe (he/him) is an award-winning communication instructor at Ridgewater College in Hutchinson, and he has been teaching college communication courses since 2014. He currently serves on the boards of Foster Adopt Minnesota and BlueSky Charter School. Bradley has previously served as executive director of a small nonprofit and as the Southwest Minnesota Regional Coordinator for the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits. In addition to his expertise in racial equity, his academic work includes publications and conference presentations on service-learning, nonprofit leadership, and video games.

Jessica Hoeper is a licensed independent social worker with 15 years of human service experience in the roles of consultant, child and family services supervisor, child protection social worker, juvenile justice social worker, and mental health practitioner. Jessica is currently contracting with nonprofits and counties in Minnesota and North Dakota providing Reflective Coaching to child welfare social workers, human service supervisors, and management teams. Jessica has a passion for reflection and making it accessible to practitioners. Her Reflective Coaching strategy is informed by and draws from her training in emotional intelligence, professional coaching, infant mental health's reflective consultation/supervision models, and with much context from her professional experiences in human services. Breanna McMullen has been in the human services field for eight years serving children and families in the areas of social work and mental health. She provides consultation and professional development training to human service providers through her company, McMullen Consulting, LLC. Breanna has a passion for empowering individuals through self-reflection and connective, intentional practices. Balancing informative awareness through research, as well as relational conversations and personal touchpoints, Breanna believes that, by supporting professionals and organizations, they can in turn feel more equipped in their support of others.
