Ethics has been described as the study of morality, and requires the pursuit of objective reasons for the moral standards we use to guide behavior and decisions. While moral standards are not always clear, a better understanding of ethics allows individuals to resolve murky situations when two “good” choices are in conflict. In this session, participants will learn about the five main ethical theories for decision-making, as well as ethical principles to keep in mind while making decisions. The session will also cover relevant ethical standards from professional codes of ethics.
